Three Waters High Country Holidays Property Information

Three Waters High Country Holidays is a well-established holiday and horse riding, camping and sapphire fossicking destination with many word of mouth recommendations and return customers.   The 560 acre property is situated in the high ranges of the New England region at an elevation of 1,000 metres on the lower undulating grassed and forested flanks of the beautiful Bullock Mountain.

This property is secluded in scenic and superb horse riding country with access to vast areas of neighbouring country, and yet only 15 kilometres from the major regional centre of Glen Innes on the New England and Gwydir Highways

WATER, WATER, WATER!!  Three Waters is named for its bountiful water supply with 2 permanent flowing creeks and the Beardy waters river forming boundaries with several excellent swimming waterholes.  The owner has established water supply to all his fenced horse yards, and built dams to further guarantee a drought free property.
Record size Redfin, an excellent eating fish have been taken from these waterholes

The colonial styled homestead faces north east with magnificent views to Bullock Mountain from the 9 metre wide covered veranda designed and built to maximise outdoor living and relaxing.  The verandah also looks over an Olympic size horse working arena and round yard.

The three bedroom homestead is clad in redwood cedar with an office off the front 9 metre verandah.  The open plan lounge, dining and kitchen with walk in pantry areas open onto the large entertaining verandah from the lounge and dining rooms.  The back verandah has an additional storage room for riding safety gear for the horse riding business.   The large main bedroom has an Ensuite and the main bathroom is located between the two other bedrooms.   Additional outdoor buildings are a large 3 bay steel shed with an additional enclosed workroom / tool storage, and hay/ machinery storage.   Attached to this is a large timber saddle and horse gear room.  

Situated near the saddle shed is a saddling yard and round yard, suitable for holding 20 plus horses for the horse riding business.  Suitable riding horses, saddles and all associated gear will go with the business, plus extra brood mares and unbroken horses if required.

Three Waters “Gunyah” and Camping, Caravan Park, and “Horsetel” camping

Along the flats of the permanent flowing Reddestone Creek are numerous excellent campfire camping sites, with access to shelter sheds, tables and benches, toilets and drinking water, and some access to power. 

A short distance from those sites is the “Gunyah”.  This is a unique rustic facility built from timber milled from our forest and comprises a huge interior camp kitchen with refrigerators, bar, library and equipped dining and dance area, opening onto a 4 metre wide veranda with its gas BBQ’s bordering the length of its western outlook over the excellent views to the creek and range country beyond.  It has spacious clean M/F shower toilet facilities.  The “Gunyah” has hosted a number of birthday, anniversary, marriage, and private function celebrations over the years.

Nearby are a number of powered camping/ caravan sites and two self-contained Ensuite  cabins, each equipped with a double bedroom, dual bunks, and an electric kitchen dining area with a night n day lounge.

The “Horsetel” camping is a unique concept providing a place of rest for those travellers towing horses in floats passing through this region, or for those wishing to stay and camp with their horse/horses to ride and explore the beautiful country.  Provided for their equine friends comfort are a number of well fenced and watered horse yards, and for the owners, access to the powered or unpowered camp facilities to camp in their floats or stay in a cabin.

 Further to the “Horsetel” camping and an easy walk to facilities is an unpowered shaded camping area with its own watered, fenced yards, toilets and boasting superb flat campsites, a number of campfire areas and firewood, drinking water, a large shelter shed with long table and bench seats equipped with two gas BBQ’s, and all with access to the arena and round yards or onto the outside large acreage and the creek for working horses on the flat or creek crossings.

Over the past six years, Three Waters has been the host venue for the “Crackin’ Cancer annual trail ride, a Cancer Council fund raising ride, with riders and horses from all over arriving to camp with their horses to do this five day, average 120 km event.  This event can be arranged to carry on into the future.  See     Three Waters is also host on occasions, Mark Langley’s horse and rider training clinics

Although Three Waters enjoys peaceful and scenic seclusion it is only a 15km, 20 minute drive to Glen Innes the Celtic Capital of Australia and its excellent shopping facilities, schools, hospital, hotels, motels, restaurants, cinema, picturesque parks, popular annual Celtic and Minerama festivals,  and access to world heritage National Parks, rivers and rainforests.

To those who wish to escape the high summer temperatures of extreme heat and humidity e.g. Queensland western and coastal, NSW western and coastal, Three Waters at 1,000 metres enjoys a healthy air conditioned dry heat summer, and mildly cold winters.
